Why Is Sparta Payments Showing Up on My Bank or Credit Card Statement?

Why is Sparta Payments showing up on my bank or credit card statement?

You may recognize the warranty or protection company you purchased from, but not the company processing your scheduled payments. Here is how to identify the charge.

Start here

Sparta is the payment-plan provider—not the company that sold your coverage.

Many customers purchase a vehicle service contract, extended auto protection plan, or home protection plan through one company, then see a different company name on their monthly statement. Sparta Payments is processing the scheduled payments connected with that agreement.

01

What Sparta does

Payment-plan administration for eligible protection products.

Sparta Payments provides payment processing services for businesses offering vehicle service contracts, extended auto protection plans, home protection plans, and other eligible protection products.

This means you may be making payments through Sparta even though you originally purchased your coverage from another company.

02

How the charge appears

Why the name on your statement may differ.

1

You purchase a vehicle or home protection plan from a provider or selling company.

2

That company arranges for Sparta Payments to administer your installment payments.

3

Your scheduled payment is processed through Sparta, so your statement may display Sparta Payments or Sparta Capital Management.

Important distinction

Does this mean you purchased something directly from Sparta Payments?

Not necessarily. Sparta Payments is not the company that sold your warranty or protection plan. Sparta is responsible for collecting the payments associated with your existing contract while the original provider remains responsible for the coverage itself.

03

Identify the payment

How can I find out which company my payment is for?

Review your original contract. Look for a vehicle service contract, auto warranty, or home protection plan.

Search your confirmation emails. Look for enrollment information, payment schedules, or protection-plan documents.

Review your notice of acceptance sent by Sparta. It will contain the marketer that sold you the plan and administrator providing the warranty.

Contact Sparta. If you still cannot identify the charge, customer support can help you investigate the payment.

04

Before disputing a payment

An unfamiliar name does not automatically mean the charge is unauthorized.

If you previously enrolled in a vehicle service contract, extended warranty, or home protection plan, Sparta Payments may be the authorized payment administrator for that agreement.

You should still verify any charge you do not recognize. If you cannot identify the payment or believe it was made in error, contact Sparta using the official information on this website before taking further action.
